Protection has always been very important on the daily life of ancient people. That´s why a dagger at hand was one of the preferred choices on self defense.
This dagger is based on a original piece of which only is conserved guard and pommel and its design dates this weapon between years 1500 and 1600 approximately. Guard has a shell hand protection, a typical religious motif on travelers and quite common in Europe. Pommel is made of wood and nailed with brass nails which gives a very oldish look. Pommel and guard are replicas of the originals made using the lost-wax casting method. A must for both reenactors and collectors.
