This brigandine was made after the sculpture of St. Maurice that can be found on the Magdeburgo Cathedral, dated between years 1250 and 1300. Despite the legendary martyr was a Theban major from the 3th century A.D. it appears represented with weapons from the 13th century. Over the lorica wears one of the first brigandines, clearly suggested by the represented rivets that hold the inner plates. This is a defensive item that combines mobility and extra protection thanks to its metal plates superimposed over a flexible frame supposedly made out of leather. After the old discussion about if it was made out of leather or textile we are inclined to think the first option is the correct as it´s more resistant and its use has been corroborated after the archaeological findings on the site of the Visby battle dated on year 1361.

- Material: leather and carbon steel
- Weight: 7 kg approx.
- Leather thickness: approx. 3 mm
- Plates thickness: approx. 2 mm

It may have small marks on its surface, imperfections or won´t be 100% homogeneous. Roughness and color may vary from piece to piece. The dying process is made using traditional techniques so final colour may vary depending on leather´s original tone.

No returns will be accepted due to these issues.
