Gauntlets or fingerless gloves like these are commonly seen in various depictions throughout the golden era of armor between 1400 and 1500.
This particular model is based on those found in the excellent Milanese armor known among experts as ?Avant? due to the inscription repeated on its skirt. Used by both cavalry and infantry alike, artistic representations suggest it was a favored protection for those who typically used pole weapons.
Made of 1.6 mm steel. The steel thickness may vary due to the handcrafted nature of our products. The carbon steel is untreated, so it may have rust, which can be easily removed. You can protect this item from rust with synthetic or mineral oil.
