This antiqued version of the Gustav II rapier features a hilt finish developed by Hanwei that allows a museum-quality patina to be applied to stainless steel while the non-corroding properties of the steel are retained, The finish is very attractive and gives an authentic appearance to the sword.

King Gustav II ( 1594-1632 ) was Sweden king since 1611 to 1632. In 1630 as a defensive maneuver, Gustav II entered in the Thirty Years´ War to preserve Church and the estate of the threat. Excellent strategist, Gustav leaded the army with unusual skill and his position was reinforced with alliances with France, Brandenburg and Saxony.

Gustav Rapier is a faithful reproduction of the original sword, carried by the King. Made of high flexibility carbon steel.

A matching Main Gauche (SH2209N) is available as well.

This model comes with sharp blade but you can use it for historical fencing, if you change the blade by a compatible OH2255 (blunt blade) made by the same manufacturer.

Steel thickness may vary due to the handcrafted methods used on its manufacturing. The steel is untreated and may have rust. To protect the steel you may rub it with mineral or synthetic oil.

The scabbard is designed for shipping not for storing so we suggest you not to keep the blade in the scabbard for long periods of time because metal can be rusted.

No returns will be accepted due to these issues.

This is an historic reproduction item. It has been designed following its physical appearance and materials but not in any case to fulfill all the same functions than the original piece.
