Description:

This sword is a replica of the Norwegian sword of Hedmark which is dated to the late 9th Century. The original sword is kept at the Museum of Cultural History in Oslo.

The swords blade is double-edged and non-sharpened, featuring a wide fuller. The guard and the wide, for this type of sword usual pommel are made of steel. The pommel is riveted. The grip is wrapped with a strip of leather.

It´s completed with a free scabbard not included in the price. The scabbard is made of leather-wrapped wood and featured a steel chape and a wooden belt loop (max. belt width 5 cm).

This is the practical blunt version of this Viking sword.

Reenactment:
This sword is made by mecanic process due to this it has a low resistance. The product is suitable just for reenactment without battle. No claims will be accepted for damage in battle.
The steel is untreated and may have rust. To protect the steel you may rub it with mineral or synthetic oil.

The scabbard is designed for shipping not for storing so we suggest you not to keep the blade in the scabbard for long periods of time because metal can be rusted. No returns will be accepted due to these issues.

Sheath is shown on pictures for illustrative purposes only and may not match with the supplied one. Sheath appear (colour or finish) may vary depending on used leather and it can´t be chosen.

This is an historic reproduction item. It has been designed following its physical appearance and materials but not in any case to fulfill all the same functions than the original piece.
