Any knight in their right mind would protect their hands. Fiore dei Liberi, a 15th-century Italian master, wrote that he always wore gauntlets in his duels due to the ease of losing a finger. Without a doubt, the gauntlet is one of the most complex pieces of a knight?s armor, and almost always one of the most striking.
These gauntlets imitate the style of 15th-century German gauntlets and are an excellent choice to add a touch of elegance to your knight or mercenary gear.
Made from 1.2 mm thick steel. Steel thickness may vary due to the handcrafted nature of our products. The carbon steel is untreated, so it may develop rust, which can be easily removed. You can protect this item from rust using synthetic or mineral oil.
This item contains brass parts, which means that due to storage it might show traces of patina or grease stains. Many commercial products are available that will restore the brass?s shine once the grease is removed.
The leather glove is sewn to the fingertips and can be easily replaced or repaired. The knuckles and finger joints are decorated with brass pieces. This product is made with natural leather. It may have scratches, imperfections, or be slightly irregular, but this is proof of its authenticity. Roughness or color may vary slightly, and the finish may not be identical from one piece to another. The dyeing is done using natural methods, so the final finish may vary depending on the original tone of the leather.
