Bascinets were one of the favorite choices in the 14th century or even in the 15th century. This is probably an evolution of the cabasset used under the helmet by both cavalry and infantry. Some variations of this item, as the one we offer, were used with coif under instead of aventail in the border.
This design specifically is based on several artistic representations dated from the first quarter of 14th century, being common in the Spanish peninsula. It´s pyramidal grill system in the visor offers an excellent defense as well as an optimal vision. Visor is foldable and has a pin system that allows a quick unmount if needed.
