The Flagelum Dei Swords are designed in Spain by the experienced Flagelum Dei / The Time Seller team. The blades as well as the weapons are developed for the safe practice of the WMA.
What we call hand-and-a-half swords, means a great variety of swords from the 13th to the end of the 15th, being normally long blades and two hand use. Also known as bastard swords, most of them were intended for duels, with some differences with the ones created for war purposes. Our “Mercenary” sword uses a simple yet effective design. A weapon that will serve well to the re-enactor, or to the martial artist. Select your blade and handle as per your taste and the use.
- Blades:
*Duellist Blade: This blade is designed for free sparring with very acceptable safety. His flexible and light blade makes the owner to have the feeling of wearing a sharp sword in his hands. Being a flexible blade we recommend. As designed, this blade offers low resistance against trusts to not hurt anyone, so, do not flex the blade too much, especially, do not flex it against the floor or a wall with your weight. Train or spar with similar weight and flexibility blades such as other Flagelum Dei’s duellists, federschwerts and the like.
*Mercenary Blade: The mercenary blade is designed for drill training, with a similar weight as the Duellist, it transmit the same feeling as a sharp sword, but his blade is stiffer and more adequate for the drill training with other rigid blades. Do not use it in free sparring without the appropriate protections and do not apply full force to avoid damage your partner.
*Rigid Blade: Made for the re-enactor or for the practice without "full contact". Even when it weight 150 more than the others, the ballance is still very good for this kind of swords. Rhombus section and 3mm thick edge.
