Our TENGU KARASU series has been designed with the martial arts practitioner in mind, in order to offer both beginners and more experienced practitioners a weapon with which they can train in techniques spanning from iaido or aikido to tameshigiri with an excellent quality katana. Karasu I , from this practice series, is the envy of our competitors, in spite of being the most affordable, as we use the best parts to make a first-quality koshirae which lacks neither elegance nor functionality: High-quality Japanese cotton in excellent brown, with hinerimaki braiding, select same, a black menuki, decorated with floral motifs, and iron fuchi, kashira and tsuba, in elegant black color. The habaki is made of brass. The 1045 steel blade, with differential tempering, and 73 centimeters long from habaki to kissaki, is light due to its bohi. The Ihori-style mune is 7.6mm at the level of the habaki. The Chû-style kissaki si 41.5mm. The Hamon is polished, Notare-style. It is a light and beautiful blade with good finishings, hand-forged, which will allow both practice in tameshigiri and calm, subtle iaido. Finally, made out of select woods, the saya is finished in elegant black lacquer. A beautiful sword indeed.
