The weapons used by the Vikings, the spear and the axe mainly, needed the counter of a shield like the one we offer here. Ours is made in a solid 10mm hardwood, with the borders in natural leather, with reinforcements of raw leather. Handforged handle 2mm thick with iron rivets, inspired by the originals. For a comfortable handling, the wood is covered in soft leathed, and stitched with waxed yarn. Five layers of linen canvas, offers a durable protection to the wood, painted in historical pigments. The back is also canvas covered and dyed with bitumen for durability and a good look. We can offer it painted in your favourite historic colour or pattern. Available in three sizes, 80cm, 70 cm and 60cm of diameter.
